Spring is finally here and Easter is right around the corner, so let's celebrate these new beginnings with the perfect symbol of life and hope, an egg! This week students will use their creative skills to have some festive fun as they create and decorate their very own (Ceramic egg plate) (sculpted birds nest). Perfect class for children ages 7-9 years old. 90-min class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our intermediate classes throughout the school-year!

Our objective is to capture the gentle nature of a butterfly kiss in a whimsical style while implementing contrast and color to make the project pop.

Join us weekly on Sunday's for an hour and a half of creativity! Our teacher will guide you through a step by step on canvas, but if you want to add your own ideas and personality to your painting - we encourage it.

In this project Students will be taking inspiration from their favorite musicians to create their very own illustrative piece. Meant to be interpreted both literally and figuratively, they will craft an image of their own imagination informed by their artists of choice visuals, lyrics and/or likeness. This weekly 2-hour class is a great option for kids looking to move ahead with their artistic talents. The students are given more independence and freedom to be creative with the projects, and they have more autonomy in how their projects go. Projects often run for 3-4 weeks to give students the extra time to create a really impressive piece. Recommended for ages 9-16. Dress for a mess! We often work with acrylic paints and oil pastels, which can be very difficult to remove from clothing.

Eva Jospin Paper Relief: In this lesson students will be learning all about the french sculptor, Eva Jospin. Known for her cardboard creations of architecture and nature, Jospin creates captivating relief with intricate detail. Students will mimic this effect with a cardboard paper relief of a wooded forest. This weekly 2-hour class is a great option for kids looking to move ahead with their artistic talents. Students can choose to come on Tuesdays, or Thursdays, or both! Whatever works best for your schedule. This week we are experimenting with application as we mimic the influential American artist Helen Frankenthaler. Inventor of the soak stain technique, Frankenthaler pushed the boundaries of color field painting in abstract expressionism. So to celebrate this marvelous approach, we too will be pouring paint instead of using brushes! Students will have the opportunity to explore color mixing as we learn about the color wheel and its various approaches. Then, we will give each concoction a chance to shine as it gets cascaded over the canvas in a spectacular free fall.
